I have finished (ok, almost finished) my assemblage. I thought it was put together rather well and then a foot came loose. That is now repaired so here are the pics of it. I hope you like it. It has been suggested to me that the "collar" needs embellishment; I found some pieces to use but am uncertain at this point. What do you think she needs? BTW: the assemblage is about 15 inches tall.
She Was So Two Faced!
The head spins around to reveal a different face. (However I took this photograph from the back) The head is made from an old can that once held moth balls.
She opens up to show that she actually does have a heart even if it is made of tin.
If you zoom in on the Bingo game you can see faces of children from a long ago class photograph.
This is a favorite picture of mine. A very cute little boy from early 1900s. This picture is transferred onto the wood.
The lever which is functioning as an arm is NOT from a toilet but a sewing machine part. The door knobs are made from "aged" washers and pieces from a necklace.
You may be able to see it better in this view. The pocket is a mint can, and I'd like to put some type of flowers in it. So far, I haven't found anything in my junk pile that fills the bill.
Her left hand is carrying a key. You may not be able to tell but it is a very old key.
Every girl needs a backpack, and this one has an old Brownie emblem on it.
The inside of the "pack" is decorated with hand painted papers as are the back and sides of the chest.
That is my most recent project. I hope that it will be approved to be in a show toward the end of April. I also hope the jury doesn't tell me that I need to do anything more than decorate the "collar"!
Hope all is well with you. Brooklyn and I are going great! I send my love, and she sends a "woof."
